James Younger, 5th Viscount Younger of Leckie, Bt (born 11 November 1955) is an elected[1] hereditary peer who sits on the Conservative benches in the House of Lords.
On 23 June 2010 it was announced that he had won the by-election to replace the 14th Earl of Northesk who died in March.
He is a deputy chairman of the Buckingham Constituency Conservative Association.[2]
Unusually, he did not sit in the House of Lords prior to the House of Lords Act of 1999 [3] as he became a peer in 2003. He is one of only 3 members of the House of Lords by virtue of the House of Lords Act who inherited their peerage after passage of the Act.
